Bucket List

Even since before senior year, my friends and I started crafting a "before-we-graduate" bucket list. Unfortunately, it's been hiding somewhere collecting dust! I'd say now is our opportune moment to do some wild things while we're old enough to know better but still young enough to not care! I've been doing some research on what other people consider must-do's for a Tallahassee bucket list and the good news is I've already done a lot of them. Here is my list of been-there-done-that's...

  • Go to Bullwinkles Saloon: Bulls is just about the only place you can't get in if you're not legitimately 21 years old, which is why it's such a big deal to go there once you finally come of age.
  • Sign your name on the Kens wall: You'll have to write it over decades of sharpie layers, but if you can find a good spot, sign away. I've left my mark quite a few times in hopes that at least one of them will still be around when I visit years from now!
  • Go to the FSU Flying High Circus: I'm not gonna lie, I had to go for a class, but the circus was actually really fun! I went to the Halloween edition which was extra thrilling. Plus, how many people can say their school has a circus?
You have no idea how much time I spent looking through
Facebook photos trying to find this gem!
  • Take a picture with the Garnet & Gold Guys: You can't miss them at FSU football games. They're garnet and gold and glitter all over! And yes, I ran down the bleachers just to get a picture with them, but it was totally worth it.
  • Ride the Night Nole: Another freshman classic. Not only is it a free, safe ride home from the bar, but it's super entertaining. I've been serenaded, seen somersaults, boyfriend/girlfriend fights, you name it. It's been a while since I've seen the craziness of the Night Nole but I may have to ride it one more time before I graduate just to make fun of the freshman! ;)
  • Get kissed on the Kissing Bench: I learned about the kissing bench during my first tour of FSU and told myself then and there that some day, I would have my turn on that historical Landis Green bench. It only took three and a half years, but one day there was a note on the door saying class was cancelled. Since I already had my chai tea, I asked Brad if he wanted to go have a mini date. As you can guess, we ended up at the kissing bench and I got my big, juicy smooch!
  • Get Breakfast for a Buck: So it was freshman year, but I did in fact get Breakfast for a Buck in the Union. So convenient that they were open at 1am when we were headed back from the Strip and starting to get hungry!
  • Cool off in the Landis Fountain: Made sure to do this on more than one occasion. A few times happened to be on a sunny day in my bathing suit. Other times we were running from the strip to the fountain to wash the paint off ourselves after DayGlo parties. It was fun splashing around that fountain regardless of the circumstance.

So now that you know all of the things I HAVE done, let's move on to the actual bucket list of things I need to accomplish very quickly!

  •  Sneak into the stadium: This is my #1 goal. I've had so many great football memories there, why not make one more memory ditching security with my favorite people.
  • Get thrown into Wescott Fountain: Nobody can say they are a true FSU graduate without checking off this tradition. I may have missed the 21st birthday mark but there's still time for a lap around the fountain!
  • Go to Downtown Get Down: I actually think I'm gonna have to do this one as an alum because the only one I know of coming up is when I'll be out of town! At least I'll have an excuse to come back!
  • Party in Club Stroz: So our library (Strozier) is infamously called "Club Stroz" by students and faculty. We've spent plentyyy of time there being studious and getting work done, but we'd actually like to see how it's name holds up and maybe have a glass of wine or even just a shot one night in the third floor annex. Nobody's ever up there, but it could be fun to say we actually "partied" in Club Stroz.

Yes the to-do list is very short, which is why I could use some suggestions! I'll keep thinking and let you know how the list is going. For now, I need to get back to the studying I've been procrastinating...

-LFH :)

PS: Starting tomorrow I am taking on the Ultimate Blogger Challenge - April Edition, so get ready to be hearing from me all month long! I have no idea what I'll be writing about but I'm excited to get the creative juices flowing and hopefully get some more attention to my blog! It's kind of lonely right now..
